happy weekending.

You know you've had a pretty satisfactory weekend when...
two of your best friends come in town from NYC,
you get to sit by the pool ALL day and read,
you spend the night at a cabin with some really quality people,
all the laughing you did at said cabin made your abs sore,
trying to take cute pictures can sometimes just be disastrous, but you embrace them anyways,
and lifelong friends are still hanging with you.

Lake Powell pals.

Last weekend was another perfect Powell adventure with my cute cousins and Schneider BFF, Annerz.
Every minute of the trip was jam packed fun... Waterskiing, surfing, air chairing, paddle boarding, boat rides, trick skis, and cliff jumping, just to name a few!
The weather was hot hot hot, and the water was the perfect temperature. We relaxed and basked in the sunshine, but we also worked all those watersport muscles that only make themselves known in Powell.
I have to say that waking up every morning with sore backs, arms, and legs is totally worth it.
I love that Lake Powell is one of the places in the world that I call home.
I love all the memories I have there and all the people that I get to share it with.
Another perfect Powell weekend to add to the record books!

the Sunny Valley.

There is no place more perfect to spend the 4th than beautiful Sun Valley.
It highlights some of the most beautiful aspects of our country...majestic mountains, wildflowers everywhere, streams running through every yard, and that small town All-American feel that I always crave.
On top of that, our whole family was together and that made it perfect.
On the morning of the fourth I decked myself out in America from head to toe and we sang "You're a Grand Old Flag" around the house once or twice before taking the dogs for a morning stroll. That night was filled with volleyball, BBQ-ing, and fireworks. It was a dream.
The rest of the weekend was spent biking, mini golfing, watching movies, playing croquet, and being together.
Sun Valley is such a happy place. It offers nothing but pleasantness and ease and life is so easy there because it is so simple. I'm so glad we spent the beautiful 4th in one of my favorite places. I am sure we will be back soon!

Let's talk about the 4th.

I adore the 4th of July.
And it's for reasons more than BBQs, summer nights, fireworks, and freedom gear.
I love it because July 4, 1776 was a sacred day in history.
On that day we became one nation under God with freedoms and liberties to all. Our Founding Fathers gave Americans this land of the free and I feel so blessed to be apart of it.
Of course I embrace all the fun and fireworks of the 4th. It is my favorite day of the year.
But I also try to take a moment to remember what we're celebrating and send grateful thoughts to all those who made America the land that I love.
