wrapping.

scissors + tape + fun wrapping paper + packages + White Christmas =
 My Christmas Eve afternoon.
And I wouldn't change one second of it.
Merry Christmas Eve!

Natasha.

Natasha Bedingfield.
She had me at Unwritten.
Her newest album is the latest soundtrack of my life.
I love her. You should too.

graham cracker houses.

Last night a village of graham cracker homes was created.
Ok so maybe it was just 2 homes, and an ambulance,
but it was quite a lovely site.
Just so quaint and adorable that I sort of wished I lived in that little house
with the heart above the door.

Happy Birthday Mary-Kate and Ashley.

Ok so they aren't Mary-Kate and Ashley,
but they are two of my favorite people in this world.
Annerz and Abby-gail.
No two people can make me laugh harder.
Truly.
Annerz turned the big 21 on Friday, and Abs turns the big 22 on Tuesday.
I just love them dearly and hope they had/have the happiest of birthdays.
I consider birthdays a very important part of life.

Thank goodness for that.
Just have to somehow get through those 11 days.
Wish me luck.

Happy Birthday Sue.

I call her Sue. She calls me Gladys.
Not really sure why.
I do know I love her dearly.
She's been my best friend since I was 8 years old.
Partners in crime, mischief managers, travel companions...all apply.
We've been on more adventures then I can count...
Hawaii, BYU, Palm Springs, road trips, Italy, London...
just to name a few.
Her 21st birthday was on Thursday.
So to her I say Happy Birthday!
I love her and know we have many more adventures to come!
xoxo

A Muggle who wishes she was a Witch.

Every day I wish I went to Hogwarts.
Luckily tonight I get to live vicariously through Harry Potter.
You can't find bigger fans of this series than David and me.
We consider ourselves America's Harry and Hermione.
Too bad he's on a mission and has to miss out on the fun.
I guess I'll just have to enjoy it twice as much for him too.
I think that's something I can manage.

a million memories.

I once lived in a land called London.
To say I miss it would be an understatement of gigantic proportions.

pure disney happiness.

If you can't tell
Ann and I love Disneyland.
Like really really love it.
This picture is actually last year in EuroDisney.
We couldn't resist dropping by during our stay in Paris.
Needless to say we did not regret our decision.

A snack for champions.

Today I'm grateful for my favorite foods.
There is no better snack then an apple with peanut butter.
This is not opinion, but solid fact.
I couldn't get through my long school days without this
pick me up every afternoon.
My roommates are becoming concerned about my
high peanut butter consumption.
But I can't really help it, I'm in love.

I'm grateful for music.
I'm one of those people that always has music playing.

I think I'm addicted.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

home(s).

I have not one, but two places I call home.
Two homes with a nice comfy bed, and a nice comfy couch.
Two homes with a kitchen and a family room.
And with two homes comes two families...
Yeah, having two homes is something to be
grateful for.

On a Drive.

Today I am grateful for the wide open road.
I probably drove a total of 10 unwanted and unplanned
hours this week.
However, I'd be lying if I said I didn't find some joy in it.
Something about my car, my music, and my seat heaters
can really soothe my soul.
I'm grateful for my personal therapy session.
(Although I wouldn't mind having Chlo in the car with me all the time too.)

Gratitude.

With 20 days until Thanksgiving I've decided to list something I'm grateful for
each day until the holiday.
And when it comes to gratitude I can't think of 4 people I'm more
grateful for than this group.

p.s. because you might be wondering...this picture is from our mud bath experience in New Zealand.

the elephant house.

We should all thank The Elephant House.
I question whether Harry Potter would have every come into
existence if JK Rowling didn't have this lovely cafe to go to,
where they provided their lovely napkins to write on.
So thank you Elephant House
because a life without Harry Potter is no life at all.

Hocus Pocus.

It's a bird....it's a, nope it's just a bird.
A bird, a lifesaver, Dorothy, Gaga, and a hippie--A likely group.
Somehow we didn't coordinate this year.
Sister friends.
Happy Bird Day, and Merry Christmas!
It's not Halloween until Chester drops in...

If you couldn't already tell, Hallow's Eve was a great one this year.
Dressing up as a bird was a lot of fun. Although I kept wishing that flying was part of the costume.
Dorothy, the hippie, the lifesaver, Gaga, and I did a lot with the weekend.
We managed to squeeze in dancing, eating, dressing up, more eating, scaring people, caramel apples, scary movies (aka Harry Potter and Hocus Pocus), more eating, and hanging with Chester.
That's my kind of Halloween.

Thank goodness for Ingrid.

All I can say is thank goodness for Ingrid.
Her music has healing powers.
Abs and I went to her concert last night and all my troubles washed away.
Her voice is beautiful.
Her songs are amazing.
And she is my new best friend.
I knew I loved her before, and now I get why.
She's just the best.

Beautiful on the inside and out.

Audrey Hepburn once said:

For attractive lips speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge you never walk alone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.
The tender loving care of human beings will never become obsolete.
As you grow older, you'll discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, the second for helping others.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, redeemed, and redeemed and redeemed.
Never throw anyone away.

This poem hangs on my mirror. It was given to me by someone very dear to my heart and every time I read it I think of her and how much this description fits her.
I hope one day it can fit me too.

For the Love of Dogs.

I love dogs.
Love everything about them.
I really love my dog Zorro.
He's the best. Seriously.
I don't think you could find a better dog.
I love my sister's dog, Jack too.
He's a little crazy, but I've learned to love him anyways.
But basically, I just love dogs.
That's all.

The Little old days.

Sometimes I wish I could just go back in time for a day and be little again.
It was fun, it was easy, it was pretty much the life.
Not to say life isn't great now...
but you have to admit, something about being 5 years old again can sound
pretty good sometimes.

The attempted Queen at Pumpkin Carving.

It is common knowledge that I am awful at carving pumpkins, however it never stops me from wanting to do it.
I always come up with the greatest ideas...
yet somehow wind up with nothing more than your standard Jack-O-Lantern.
So this year as I attempt at brilliance (as I always do) and result in mediocrity (as I always will) I'm going to love my regular ole' Jack and display him proudly for the world to see.

Hi Mom.

Meet my mom.
She's greater than great.
We look alike, act alike, and think alike.
I'm pretty sure she knows me inside and out.
I think I know her pretty well too.
Couldn't live without her.
Lucky to have her.
I love her a lot.

Birthday girl for the 21st time.

Just a few of my favorite things.
Chlo and me and my new sweater.
London girls!
The best roommates
 Cake and Presto.
My best friends.
Just Sadie and I being normal.
Carli is the best. No question. THE BEST.
Just me then and now.

I had a perfect birthday.
Seriously, I can't think of a better day.
I had a London breakfast with the roommates.
Spent the majority of the day with my sister.
Had a delicious dinner with my family aka the best family.
Got some amazing gifts.
Had everyone I hoped for at our apartment for dessert.
(Including my two best friends from Salt Lake and London girls)
Saw too many pictures of my childhood on every wall.
Was sung Happy Birthday to multiple times.
(Including the Adams' family redition)
Ate Mrs. Backer's birthday cake all day long.
Even took a double shot of Welch's grape juice.

I love birthdays. Especially this one. It was just great in every way.

Sun Valley, Fall, Friends, and an almost Birthday.

I had a perfect weekend up in Sun Valley (another one of my very favorite places). My mom, my dad, Carli, Cath, Abs, and Sadie all went up there with me to celebrate my upcoming birthday.
We went played tennis, went on a bike ride, soaked up the sun by the pool, went on walks with Zorro, ate delicious food, watched conference, had the most perfect weather, and snuck in some birthday cake too.
The leaves were the perfect shade of yellow, the sun never stopped shining, and I couldn't have asked for better people to share it with.
I am a lucky lucky girl.
We are a bike riding family.

Friends and fall.

Birthday cake.

Happy girls.

Pumpkin Patch.

Abby is a pumpkin head.

I hope all future birthday weekends can be this much fun!
