The Birthday Queen

Happy Birthday to my amazing, beautiful Mom! 

She is the Queen, the Fun Sheriff, and my very best friend!

My mom is truly the most kind, thoughtful, motivated, welcoming person I know.

She makes friends everywhere she goes, 

and she always makes you feel like the most important person in the world. 

I feel so blessed to get to be her daughter and I aspire to be like her every day.

Favorite Tradition.

Last night we had our annual adventure up to 

the Sundance Film Festival.

It is one of my very favorite traditions.

We wandered up and down Main Street and searched/acted like stars.

Always, always, always a good time.

My half marathon weekend

 ^^^and the adventure begins! 

 ^^^happy people at the happiest place on earth!

 ^^^4am, pre-race...

 ^^^Finishers! We did it!

 ^^^bling bling bling

^^^It was heartbreaking to leave the blue skies behind.

I just had the best weekend with my family.

We left on Friday morning for Long Beach and it was go go go.

We picked up our official race bibs and went to dinner in Newport.

On Saturday morning my dad and Allie ran a 5K through Disneyland,

and then we spent the day in Disneyland!

It was 80 degrees and fabulous.

We ate an early dinner and went to bed at 8:30pm that night

because we had to get up at 3:45am to get read for our race.

At 5am we hit the ground running (literally).

My mom, Carli, and I were just three of the 12,000 runners out. 

It was a lot more fun than I thought.

And I could do it! I did do it!

13.1 miles later we crossed the finish line together.

We spent our last 24 hours in sunny Palm Springs. Perfection. 

I'm so proud of my family. We all achieved amazing things this weekend!

The beginning of the end.

Today was my LAST 1st day of school.

I can't believe it.

And yet, I can totally believe it.

I've attended many a first day of school to reach my very last one. 

It's a pretty good feeling.

I'm on my way to growing up!

I'm so excited for the New Year.

This is a big year for me.

I will graduate from college this year. 

I will have to make some grown up decisions. 

I have no idea where life is going to take me.

But I can't wait.

We had the best Christmas in Hawaii.

It was sunny, it was warm, and I just got to relax.

Perfection.

It was so much fun to have all of my mom's family there. 

I love my sweet grandparents, and my cousins. I loved spending time with them.

I loved having a warm, sandy Christmas on the beach. 

I loved seeing the sunrise from the top of the Haleakala volcano.

I loved snorkeling and playing tennis and reading a good book.

I loved coming home with bronzed skin.

Hawaii, I love you. Thanks for always making me smile.
